Dear web browsers and prospective clients

Welcome to my site. My name is Karen Bell.  I’m a counsellor specialising in trauma and anxiety related problems. I’ve been doing this work for a long time and have added a lot of strings to my bow over the years. You are in good hands.  I am very transparent with how I work.  I welcome any feedback in the form of reviews which can be put on Trust Pilot, Google and also sent to me by email at karenbellcounselling@gmail.com

Cancellation and missed session policy

If for any reason you are unable to attend your appointment please let me know as soon as possible so we can rearrange. I ask that you pay 48 hours in advance.  This is your commitment to your work and it allows someone else to take your slot if you are not attending.

Privacy and confidentiality

Strictly no personal data is shared. No data is held after therapy ends. Data Protection Act 2018.

CONFIDENTIALITY The counselling service I offer is confidential. That means it is confidential information that you attend and what you say to me remains confidential. The limits to confidentiality are that I am a registered member of BACP and I am required to talk to a Clinical Supervisor once a month to be a professional, ethical counsellor. Health professionals have to break confidentiality if it means keeping you and others safe.  That means (if you live in the UK) I do have to tell your doctor if you mention harming yourself or harming anyone else as you are their patient and your safety is my priority. Therefore, your doctor’s contact details are required. I will tell you if I have to break confidentiality.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not an emergency service.  If you are suicidal please contact the Samaritans on 116 123, the emergency services on 999 or go to A & E. This is not about feeling suicidal.  You are welcome to talk about suicidal feelings during your sessions.
